Biju George is Registered Manager at Warrengate Nursing Home.
"I’m Biju, I graduated as a nurse in India before coming to the UK. In India, the elderly are the most important part of the community. They are to be respected and listened to. I try to bring that ethos to the forefront of our care at Warrengate. We look after incredibly complex clients and we are often able to take residents which other homes couldn't. This really binds our team together.
As a manager, I really try and empower my team so they can grow in their roles. I place a lot of importance on good communication and make sure everyone is involved in the direction of the home."
Warrengate Nursing Home is situated in a tree-lined private road in the beautiful village of Kingswood, Surrey. The home provides nursing care with a specialist focus on moderate and advanced dementia.
Warrengate sits in beautiful grounds and landscaped gardens. The home strongly focuses on nutritional food, fulfilling activities, and, of course, incredible care. We have an amazing team here who have been with us for many years thanks to our thorough training and support. We also have two nurses on duty during the day and are extremely well-served by our local GP, who has a great relationship with our residents.
We’d love for you to pop in for a cup of tea, stay for dinner, or wander around the grounds. Contact us today to book a viewing!

Our values at Warrengate nursing home are Respect, Empathy and Reflection we believe that all our staff follow these values and have them in their heart and the forefront of their mind every time they are completing any activity in the home. Many changes have happened in Warrengate over the last few years. We have implemented many new structures and frameworks introduced new systems and ways of working such as new more robust admission and risk management processes, a new senior leadership team, and a new clinical governance framework. Within all of this the team at Warrengate have always strived for excellence and are willing to take on these new changes with a positive attitude and approach. This has a positive impact on the way that we deliver our care that all involved can benefit in from our service users to relatives to outside agencies. The introduction of new job role within the team such as the Clinical Director who has abundant knowledge in health and social care system and worked as a senior consultant in Public Health England for a good 10 years brought a wide range of knowledge and skills to nourish the team and this has a huge impact in the delivery of care to our service users. Moreover, the other recruitment such as the Regional Wellbeing Manager, Regional Support Manager and Regional Director etc have helped the team establish their vision and outline their own plans and needs to achieve ever improving standards. This development has improved overall supervision which has a very positive impact on care delivery. Warrengate was in the final round for the Great British Care Awards this year for 4 categories and the team celebrated with staff from all levels of the organisation. We all believe that in Warrengate Nursing Home we are promoting high quality care to our service users through the person centered approach. We almost achieved complete digital transformation with electronic care planning, Mar Charts, Rota management, Policies and handovers. These systems have been embedded for over two years now and enable the entire team to access information to help them understand the service user’s needs and risks. This is particularly valuable during Resident of the Day, when members of each department are encouraged to engage with the service user and check that they agree that the care plan meets their needs. The digital transformation has also enabled us to perform quarterly incident reviews, harnessing the quality and power of the data we collect to improve resident care. The transparency of the care monitoring system helps residents, staff, and family members to access the daily care record and contribute towards the high quality of care delivery. The electronic auditing system (Radar) supports staff to identify risks and areas for quality improvement and respond promptly to them. The Radar system which is designed around the KLOEs helps the managers to identify area of improvement and come up with an action plan to avoid any possible risk. We hold monthly clinical governance meetings with the nursing team and senior leadership to share action plans and learning. All our audits are signed off by management and reviewed monthly in a meeting with senior leadership to assess quality, progress and required resources. |
