Meet The Manager

Melody Akena is Home Manager at Whitgift House.

Whitgift House is a home with a small ‘h’ and that makes it special to me. Each person that joins us brings their own uniqueness to our home and it shows in what we do and the sense of belonging we all share. I love this quote from one of our residents which I believe captures us perfectly – ‘You aren’t just carers you are caring friends – like family’

Residents at Whitgift House nursing home receive the best care from qualified nursing professionals at our well-respected care home in Croydon. With round-the-clock assisted living as well as weekly GP visits, we ensure each individual is receiving the best quality respite and nursing care.

Activities Are So Important

It’s vital we keep our minds and bodies active as we get older. Not only to bring a little joy and novelty to every day, but to make sure we keep hold of our mental and physical faculties for as long as possible.

Our homes have a dedicated activities team who ensures that every person we care for does at least one thing each day that they enjoy.

Our nursing care and respite care residents here at Whitgift House might enjoy playing backgammon with staff, listening to records together with other residents, or taking a daily walk around the grounds: whatever that individual needs to help keep them active.
