Gitta Tshibala is Care Home Manager at Willett House.
I joined Mission Care in April 2018, having worked for the NHS for about 11 years and developed from a band 5 novice nurse into different senior positions.
I started from being a night nurse to a day nurse at Homefield. I was promoted later to a senior nurse, still at Homefield to a deputy manager.
From February 2023, I was offered to act as the, Willett House Manager. I saw this as not only an opportunity for my career development, but more of an honour from the senior management who put their trust in me.
The dedication, the gratitude, and the attitude to serve; the compassion to passion, the ambition to develop and develop others, the fulfilment of the outcomes of making a difference into someone’s life is the drive of walking into the women pioneers who have and are carrying on serving the vulnerable, the poorer, the unfortunate, the elderly, the needing within the entire Mission Care.
With familiar songs playing on the old time radio, murals painted on the walls and a variety of books and newspapers dotted around the hallways, staff at Willett House have always worked hard to create a comfortable and stimulating environment for our residents to live in.
“Everybody at Willett House contributes to running the home, with our residents’ wellbeing and comfort always being front of mind. Each wing at Willett House has dedicated carers allowing our residents to build rapport with those caring for them on a daily basis. It also offers familiarity and stability, which is incredibly important for those living with dementia” Marie Roe, Clinical Lead.
