Meet The Manager

Linda Hatton is Manager at Winifred Dell Care Home.

I have been the manager at Winifred Dell Care home for 6 years and started in the company in 2012 as a senior care assistance. My background is psychology and I studied at Goldsmiths University London. I have a open door policy and available to talk to residents, visitors and family members if and when needed.

Linda Hatton

Winifred Dell is a modern and stylish family-run home, built around an attractive courtyard garden. Just 20 miles from central London, you’ll find us in a quiet little enclave next to the beautiful Thornton Country Park. It’s a truly relaxing and friendly place where residents quickly feel at home.

Our caring team, many of whom live locally in Brentwood and West Hordon, provide compassionate residential care, residential dementia care, including care for those with high dependency needs, and end of life care on both a long-term and respite care basis.

From the wide variety of activities and pastimes we offer, to the way we welcome friends and family into our home each day, we are proud of the close-knit, friendly community we have created, where the people who live with us receive care and support delivered with kindness, respect and a very person-centred approach.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

All of our bedrooms are en-suite and fully furnbished, providing convenience and privacy. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with treasured possessions, photographs, ornaments and small items of furniture, if they wish – ensuring their rooms are familiar, homely and a haven for rest and relaxation.

We also appreciate the importance of much-loved pets in our residents’ lives, who provide a great deal of comfort, purpose and emotional security. This is why we always try to accommodate residents’ small, well-behaved pets, who inevitably go on to become a much-loved part of our home.

With wide corridors, great lighting and lifts to all floors, residents are able to choose how they spend their time, whether it’s in one of our communal lounges, watching a film screening in our cinema room, a round of pool in our upstairs activity area, or having a nap in a quiet area.

We’re proud of our two beautiful gardens, where nature is never far away. Designed to provide sensory stimulation and a safe haven for quiet times, there is a fish pond, an aviary and families of rabbits hopping around. With plenty of seating areas, the gardens make a brilliant space that we use a lot over the warmer months for barbecues, games and afternoon teas.

Activities Are So Important

Winifred Dell has a lively social scene, with dedicated Lifestyle Coordinators who develop an inspiring schedule of daily activities in partnership with the special people who live here and those closest to them.

Using residents’ own passions and interests as a starting point, we host a variety of activities and events from Zumba exercise classes for fitness and fun to creative painting workshops. One of our favourites is the Knit and Natter group, where everyone bonds over shared experiences and memories. There are plenty of outside activities during the warmer months too and our games room doubles as a cinema room for regular screenings of old favourites and new discoveries.
