Mark Mounter is Registered Manager at Apple Mews Care Home.

Mark works between two locations and promotes staff development to ensure the best care possible. Mark is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who worked as a manager in the NHS for over a decade.

We would like to welcome you to our home Apple Mews Care Home Middlesbrough, where the comfort, care, well being and pleasure of our residents is placed before anything else. Apple Mews is home to adults who need expert residential care in either the short or long term. Our experienced, compassionate and highly skilled care team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The three story purpose built care home enjoys a relaxed atmosphere in which we try to make the residents feel settled, comfortable and happy.

Situated in the Acklam area of Middlesbrough, Apple Mews is a 3 storey building and offers care for the elderly offering a wide range of care, those being

  • Residential and Dementia care
  • General Care

The care is spread over 3 floors and has 43 single bedrooms en-suite facilities consisting of a sink and toilet.

Each floor has lounges and dining rooms, where our delicious menus of healthy and nutritious meals are served.

We also have on offer unlimited Wi-Fi access is available at no extra cost.

Additional facilities include a lift to all floors, and accessible bathrooms, shower rooms and WCs on each floor for all residents to use. The home also has its own laundry and a catering facility.

The home has undergone a renovation programme and in 2019 was fully completed, offering 10 newly refurbished single bedrooms, lounge, dining and outside patio area.

Our Building and Facilities

Our floor plan promotes easy mobility for our residents. Beautifully decorated living, dining and communal areas provide our residents with a safe and comfortable place where they can relax, socialise and be cared for in a supportive environment with the comforts of home.

We are able to offer extra facilities in bedrooms as required and upon request please discuss this with the home manager.

We have three delightful lounges, with doors leading to covered patio areas overlooking landscaped gardens. There are gently sloping ramps for wheelchair access to our gardens.

The main lounge has a TV, video, DVD player, and stereo available for the residents use. The other lounge  is referred to as the Quiet lounge as it allows residents to interact and socialise in a relaxing and peaceful environment. In the interest of Health & Safety Apple Mews has a no smoking policy.
