Julie Wrighton is Care Manager at Autumn House Nursing Home.

With 26 years of experience as a manager in the care industry, Julie has built an excellent reputation along the way. Her extensive knowledge and hands-on approach to management have made her a trusted leader in the field. Julie is passionate about ensuring that every resident receives the highest level of care and that the home operates with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Our modern, attractive nursing home accommodates up to 67 residents, offering both nursing care and residential care for self-funding individuals. This dual capability allows us to adapt to residents’ changing needs, ensuring they receive continuous and appropriate care as their requirements evolve.

We are committed to delivering care that is sensitive to racial, cultural, and religious needs, always maintaining an atmosphere of respect and understanding. Autumn House Nursing Home is proud to have received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Our Building and Facilities

We have 29 ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor and 36 ensuite bedrooms upstairs, bath and shower rooms, communal rooms, dining rooms and activities rooms are situated throughout both floors. The laundry room, hair dressing salon are all on the ground floor. A coffee and tea area are situated in the front foyer with chairs and tables situated for your comfort. Water machines are also situated around the home so please help your yourself.

Description

All bedrooms at Autumn House have ensuite facilities, rooms on the nursing floor have specialized beds to assist with resident’s needs, while rooms down stairs have divan style bed unless resident’s needs change and a specialized bed can then be used. All rooms are going to be refurbished if not done so already.. Furniture can be brought in by residents from their previous home to personalize their room.

There is always something exciting and fun to do at Autumn House. We have a fantastic team of Activity Coordinators. Joanne, Wayne, and Kurt all joined Autumn at the start of 2024 and have since transformed the activities. They have created an engaging environment tailored to meet residents' diverse needs and interests.

Our activities team organises a wide range of activities, ensuring that there’s always something fun and engaging for everyone, regardless of their interests or abilities.

Our dedicated Facebook page allows the family to keep in touch with the weekly events within the home. So, as a family member or friend, you would never feel disconnected from your loved ones if you are unable to visit or just to show extended family and friends.

Autumn House offers various activities to enhance residents' physical, mental, and social well-being.

Below is a list of the types of activities that Joanne, Wayne and Kurt organise:
- Professional performers will sing appropriate age-led music sessions.
- Art and Craft Workshops: Painting, drawing, knitting, and other crafts.
- Music and Dance: Music therapy sessions
- Group Outings: Trips to local attractions and cultural events.
- Games and Puzzles: Bingo, card games, board games and puzzle challenges.
- Exercise Classes: Group exercises such as chair yoga.
- Sports and Games: Bean bag games, ring toss, chair skittles and other gentle sports competitions.
- Pet Therapy: Visits from therapy animals to provide comfort and companionship.
