Activities Are So Important |
---|
Entertainment plays a central role in what we do at Ashbury Lodge. Two activities organisers offer a stimulating programme of events tailored to the ability and preferences of residents as a physically active lifestyle can significantly improve people’s quality of life at all stages of dementia. Some Ashbury Lodge residents enjoy sitting peacefully with their favourite carer in our sensory garden, others prefer a gentle stroll next to Coate Water lake. In addition we offer a busy programme of live music sessions, baking classes, Christmas parties, theatre trips, exercise sessions and day trips to the seaside. Our manager wrote: At Ashbury Lodge, we celebrate life and make sure the people we support do too. We do this by treating everyone as individuals, and always tailoring our services and support to meet their needs. These needs vary. We provide support to those living with dementia, as well as providing accommodation and support for people looking for residential care. We also offer specific support for adults with a range of disabilities. Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones! |
