Sharon Lloyd is Director/Registered Manager at Woodside Hall Nursing Home.

Sharon Lloyd has been Managing the home for the past 24 years, she is an enthusiastic Director/Registered Manager and during this time has gained a wealth of knowledge and qualifications including Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. Having had a true insight of meeting residents needs & Safety to ensure they have a good quality of life.She is able to support the needs of relatives and ensure the staff are supported in all areas with an open door policy and all training provided.

Woodside Hall Nursing Home stands in spacious landscaped grounds halfway between the charter market town of Hailsham and the town of Polegate, home to a main line railway station, and is just 5 miles from the seaside town of Eastbourne.

The purpose of Woodside Hall Nursing Home is to provide residents with a home away from home, all residents, whether they are here for short term respite or long term care, are treated with the same amount of love and care and are made to feel as happy and comfortable as possible. Here at Woodside we provide 24 hour nursing from friendly, fully qualified staff that are always on hand to ensure that all of our residents’ needs are met.

It can be daunting to think about a loved one staying in a nursing home but, rest assured, Woodside Hall isn’t like other nursing homes, we try to provide our residents with an environment that feels much more like that of an hotel, relaxed and friendly, with a welcome basket of toiletries and fresh towels provided upon arrival and embroidered robes and slippers, flowers, newspapers, manicurists and hairdressers available upon request.

Our Building and Facilities

As you enter the building you will immediately appreciate the warm and friendly ambience of our lovely home. Woodside Hall is decorated to a high standard throughout and also benefits from extensive beautifully manicured gardens, we have an in house maintenance team to ensure that these standards never falter and ensure the home is kept as lovely as possible.

Woodside Hall offers 47 single and 6 double rooms, all en-suite, over two floors; the first floor is served by two lifts and three stairways for ease of access. In addition there are two dining rooms, three lounges, a beautiful large conservatory and the gardens with a paved seating area for the residents to relax in.

To ensure the safety of our a residents a number of measures are taken including having corridors that are wide and bright with handrails to aid mobility, having bathing and showering assisted by our care staff to ensure a pleasurable and safe experience, and we have modern fire detectors and fire doors which are tested weekly.

Description

All of the rooms here at Woodside Hall are en-suite and have been furnished and decorated beautifully. Residents are very welcome to bring with them small items of furniture, ornaments and personal touches to add a more homely feel to their room. Emergency call systems are provided in all the rooms and around the home and rooms are also complete with a flat screen colour television and an easy to use telephone for making and receiving outside calls.

Activities Are So Important

During their stay here residents will be invited to join in with daily activities, run by our friendly and enthusiastic activities coordinator, who visits five times a week. Activities include cheese & wine, knitting, arts and crafts. Flower arranging, poetry, table games, movie afternoons and much more. Music is a prominent feature of our activities programme and we regularly have visiting entertainers performing all types of music. In addition, a touring theatre group also performs here four times per year. If residents do not wish to partake in communal activities then in-room entertainment can be provided, such as films, magazines, books, puzzles or knitting. Family and friends are always more than welcome to join in with activities.

Interdenominational Holy Communion is given by the clergy and everyone is invited to attend, personal visits from the clergy are also welcomed.
