Sarah Watson is The Home Manager at Orchard House Care Home.
I have worked within the care industry for over 20 years. I joined RCH Care Homes in 2011 as a care assistant and this is where my journey began. I worked through various different positions to progress through to where I am now as General Manager. This was many years of training and studying in which RCH supported me throughout my career changes.
Situated in a pleasant residential area of Wisbech, Orchard House Care Home is purpose-built and carefully designed to support our residents to live happy, fulfilled and comfortable lives.
Located over two floors, our home includes light and airy, lounges and dining rooms as well as spacious en-suite bedrooms, and a variety of communal spaces such as a quiet room and a hair salon.
Our landscaped gardens are wheelchair accessible and designed to be a welcoming place for people to relax on one of the patios complete with outdoor furniture, enjoying a spot of light gardening or watching the large carp in the fishpond.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
Supporting our residents to enjoy every day living at Orchard House is a key focus for our dedicated team. By getting to know each person, we are able to tailor our activities and events to their likes and dislikes as well as activities they may like to try. No two days are the same here and, alongside our usual daily hobby-based activities, we also like to host events which are a little out of the ordinary. In addition to art therapy, keeping fit with our chair-based exercises, baking, and quizzes. We also take great pleasure in welcoming visiting entertainers, schools and groups to our home to enjoy spending time with our residents. Our team and residents also love pottering around the local garden centre, taking in a movie at the cinema and getting dressed up for our themed days throughout the year – complete with themed menus and decorations! |
