Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Before all visitors and staff  are allowed in The Haven they must complete an Lateral Flow Test, either at their own home and register this on the NHS website or they can have a Lateral flow test done at The Haven and wait for the results to come back.

All visitors and staff must wear face mask at all times.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

The home is set in large grounds, and our residents love the outside garden space. The home and the gardens are fully secured for peace of mind. There are two newly decorated lounges at The Haven. One is utilised as a reminiscence lounge, whilst the other is used for activities such as Bingo, indoor ten pin bowling, crafts, singing and dancing and so much more. Both lounges have large screen TVs and once a week we hold a Movie night for our residents, with popcorn included!

Located in the rear garden we have a summerhouse, which sometimes the residents use as a quiet space. Both lounges back onto the garden, and when the weather is good, many of the residents will sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Activities Are So Important

Activities are given high priority in our home, and we pride ourselves on the range and variety of activities we offer our residents. However this does not only take place in the communal areas, as occasionally some residents may prefer to remain in their own rooms. In which case our Activities Co-ordinator will spend time with them too.
