Welcome to Our Care Home in Bristol
Avonmere Care Home is situated in Downend, South Gloucestershire, close to the Willy Wicket Inn on the northern outskirts of the city of Bristol, and within easy reach of the M32, M4 and the M5. The purpose-built building consists of three floors, one of which is dedicated to dementia care, and is surrounded by a large, carefully landscaped garden full of acers, silver birches and beautiful hydrangeas.
Couples and companions are warmly welcomed in our home, where we prioritise their well-being, comfort and happiness together.
Staff at our care home in Bristol are very much geared towards addressing the needs of each individual resident, ensuring both the physical and emotional well-being necessary to gain fulfilment and a contented outlook. A sudden change of circumstance in later years such as moving out of a family home can be a stressful and emotional time, and every effort will be made to make the transition as painless as it can be and to offer peace of mind to all concerned. We manage our own Facebook page and update it regularly so that friends and family can see what the team are getting up to with residents and connect with loved ones.
If you are looking for dementia care homes in Bristol, then Avonmere could be the home you have been searching for. The expert team of staff are trained to look after all types of residents with a range of care requirements. The careful choice of staff and thorough training they require ensure that our residents who are living with dementia receive the very best care.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |
---|
Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
Residents can spend their time just sitting around, but they’d be hard pressed to do that for all the temptations that will be on offer. Activities at Avonmere Care Home are resident-led, and broad in their appeal and includes activities as Tai Chi, Pilates, visits from local schools or nurseries, Scout groups and other community groups, as well as arts and crafts, and gardening. The garden is not only full of colourful shrubs and trees, gazebos and shady seats, but also raised beds, a greenhouse and a potting shed for use of the residents. Plenty of scope for exercising those green fingers then, and maybe homegrown strawberries and tomatoes for tea in summer? The minibus will be at the gate ready and waiting to take off for the sites of Bristol and South Gloucestershire or perhaps, on a sunny day, the Weston-super-Mare beach hut, which is shared with our sister care homes in Somerset. There is no lack of interesting places to visit in the area, from stately homes to the pub just across the road! |
