Sharon Tucker is Registered Manager at The Grove Residential Home.
Sharon started her career in care in 1997 as a domestic worker at a care home. She progressed from care assistant to senior carer and deputy manager before the home closed in 2000. Subsequent experience delivering home care in the community gave her another perspective on the challenges facing the care sector before she joined The Grove as a senior carer in 2013. Since then, she has developed her career from team leader to deputy manager and, upon completing her Level 5 qualifications, registered manager.
Conveniently located in the heart of Winterbourne, Bristol, The Grove Residential Home is a specialist dementia care centre rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission. With 35 private rooms, the home offers exceptional comfort.
The Grove opened in 1990 and has been providing exceptional care ever since. It occupies a beautifully restored 19th-century coach house in the heart of the charming South Gloucestershire village of Winterbourne, where it enjoys an outstanding local and national reputation.
Dementia care is a highly specialised area, and our well-trained team is vastly experienced in delivering the appropriate care, even in the face of what can often be very challenging behaviours. Compassion, empathy, and patience are key to effective care, and our staff have been hand-picked for these qualities, not to mention a ready smile.

Activities Are So Important |
---|
More than any other category of elderly care, dementia calls for sensitively designed and well-planned activities that engage the mind and body. At The Grove Residential Home, in addition to activities within the home such as arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, singing and armchair aerobics, regular excursions provide an opportunity to enjoy the local area in a safely managed way. Again, the aim is to encourage well-being and joy, to which our activities programme makes an important contribution.
