Christine Hutchings is Home Manager at Bayford House Care Home.

"Bayford House is a beautiful Victorian property with 6 acres of grounds. Some landscaped and some left for the local wildlife to roam. Our staff are passionate and take pride in delivering person centred care to all our residents. It’s a real home from home."

At Bayford House we welcome anyone in need of long or short-term residential and nursing care. We also offer 19 spacious, independent living suites in Newdale Court, a part of our home that supports assisted living with the added peace of mind of 24/7 care.

Bayford House is packed with charming features like fireplaces, wood paneling, large bay windows, and set in six acres of beautiful grounds. We like to get involved with village life in Stockcross where we’re located, just outside of Newbury.

Residents can always choose where to spend their time, perhaps pottering in the gardens, or catching up with friends in one of our comfortable lounges, before sitting down to a delicious lunch in our elegant dining room.

We have a beauty salon for nails and hairdressing and afternoon tea on the patio in the summer. There are lots of treats to enjoy.

There’s no typical day at Bayford House, but we arrange plenty to do, both here at the home as well as out and about.

We have a wide range of activities such as - sing-a-longs, arts and crafts, knitting, visiting singers, musicians, and pantomimes.

We do monthly seasonal events with decorations, dressing up and special activities.

We have many connections with the local village with visiting primary school children, scarecrow for Stockfest, outings to the park, and pub lunches.
