A firm favourite at the home with many of the residents is the cinema room. With luxury art deco style cinema seating and footstools, walls filled with images of iconic stars such as Audrey Hepburn and mood lighting; there is an authentic old movie theatre feel to this room. There is an old fashioned library, with wooden effect panelling and shelves filled with titles our residents like to read. And if there is nothing that takes their fancy, Wiltshire Libraries come to the home every fortnight to refresh the titles and bring specific books our residents have ordered. This room has a large balcony, with high glass panelling for safety, where residents can sit and admire the gardens. Upstairs there is also a vintage style tea room, with fine china, floral wallpaper, bunting and wooden furniture, it’s like an old fashioned café. The tea room opens out onto another balcony with views of the gardens, which have raised plant wooden planters and wheelchair friendly pathways, making them ideal for residents who are less mobile. There is an impressive hair and beauty salon for residents who like to look their best. The room has a nail bar too. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
At Briggs Lodge Residential and Nursing Home our team provide person-centred activities which truly enrich our residents’ lives. There are reminiscence activities for those living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia or memory loss. And not forgetting our pamper therapies, poetry recitals and music and movement sessions. We have welcomed artistic youngsters from St Margaret’s Prepatory School in Calne, Wiltshire along for a visit. The children came to the home with artwork they had created, showing what they imagine life to be like in 60 years’ time, when they may be old enough to move into a residential and nursing home. The artwork will be buried in a time capsule on the site, to be opened in the year 2079. |
