Meet The Manager

Rachel White is Home Manager at Brunswick House Nursing Home.

Rachael joined health and social care in 2013, starting her varied career off as a live-in carer. She worked her way up in both domiciliary and residential care and has also dabbled in operations management and quality and compliance. Elderly care that promotes independence is her passion.

Rachael's aim is to make a positive difference to the lives of anyone who needs support, which includes both residents and colleagues. Rachael has completed her Level 5 in Health and Social Care and aspires to be part of an “outstanding” service (and she's certain this will be Brunswick House!).

Rachael lives in Gloucester with her boyfriend and cat and enjoys going out for dinner and to the cinema, reading, as well as seeing friends and family.

Brunswick House Nursing & Residential Home is a beautiful mock Tudor house built in the 1940s, situated next to Robinswood Hill Country Park, where there are lovely walks to enjoy and just three miles from Gloucester City. We are easily accessible with two bus routes passing close by.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Testing & PPE:

We are now being provided with large scale testing kits to enable us to test and re-test staff and residents regularly allowing us to react quickly and minimising the risk of an outbreak. We have ample PPE from a private source available for staff, residents and visitors to use if required.

We do ask that visits are still booked in advanced so we are able to plan accordingly. Visitors will still need to take rapid flow tests on arrival and wear a mask.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) - Regulator’s Assessment
In response to the coronavirus pandemic, regulators have assessed the preparedness of care providers in relation to infection prevention and control. Details of the regulator’s latest findings can be found below.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

Residents may prefer to relax and rest or to be involved in all the activities, which take place on a daily basis during the week. We also go on regular outings to the local areas of interest.

Many of the activities have been suggested by residents and we continue to encourage this practice. Ideas on any kind of improvement are welcome at all times at Brunswick House.

The residents are our main priority and we do everything within our power to make them feel that this is their home.
