The Hollies - Care Home
Meet The Manager

Amanda is Home Manager at The Hollies.

I started out working for Leeds City Council in a Dementia Home in Headingly which sadly closed before joining the Learning and Development Team in Merrion House. There I supported carers to achieve their NVQ.
After 22 years with LCC I began delivering NVQ training in Homecare and Residential. I then went on to be the registered manger of a mental health community support organisation and then a Homecare Manager for 9 years in the Wakefield area.
Over the years I have gained my NVQ 2, 3, 4 and 7, Assessor and Internal Verifier award and gained a large amount of experience and knowledge. After 36 years I am still learning new things every day!
I am passionate about my residents in The Hollies and feel privileged to be supporting and caring for them in their home.
The Hollies is a lovely home which I am helping to fill with love.

Amanda

In line with government guidance, residents can met their families in an area that they feel most comfortable in. We do have a conservatory that can be accessed externally to the building should there be concerns about entering the home.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Wireless Internet access (WiFi)

Yes, our care home has WiFi in all our resident’s rooms.

Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”)

Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms.

Telephone for external calling

Our care home provides a telephone in some of our residents’ rooms.

Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.
