Activities Are So Important |
---|
Our team of well-being and activity coordinators ensure that residents have a comprehensive selection of meaningful activities to take part in, including a choice of group activities intended to encourage socialisation, such as games, light exercise, arts and crafts, gardening and singing. Residents can also enjoy one-to-one activities if they prefer. Walberton village is a short distance away from Walberton Place where residents can enjoy access to village amenities. We regularly encourage visits from local community groups to enable residents to maintain their interests and socialise with like-minded hobby groups. Building links to the local area is important and we welcome visitors to Walberton Place to enjoy tea, coffee and cake in the delightful Honey Pot Café onsite. Walberton Place also plays host to a variety of events to encourage involvement from the local community with life in our Sussex care home. This includes coffee mornings, dementia friends’ sessions and a wide selection of informative talks and meet-ups covering a wide range of topics from history to ‘Living with Parkinson’s’. We encourage plenty of intergenerational activities at Walberton Place and our residents look forward to regular visits from the local pre-school and primary school children. We are also very welcoming to volunteers and are always looking for keen individuals to join in with our residents, whether enjoying a spot of gardening, getting hands-on with crafts or just to visit and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat in our lovely lounges or extensive gardens. |
