Joanne Eaton is Home Manager at Montfort Manor.
I joined Care UK in 2022 having known the company to have a very good reputation for providing high quality care, and putting residents and their needs first. Care UK to me is about quality both for residents and families as well as colleagues.
I have been working as a Home Manager in care homes for the past 8 years, a role which requires good communication skills, compassion, empathy, whilst being able to multitask.
My favourite part of each day is walking around the home, making sure residents are happy and safe. There is always someone to have a chat with.
The skilled team at Montfort Manor near Ashford in Kent delivers nursing, residential and dementia care on a short-term and permanent basis.
At this purpose-built care home, every thought has been given to residents' health and wellbeing. The home is divided into small suites to enable residents - particularly those who are living with dementia - to make friends and feel calm and secure in a homelike environment.
Montfort Manor has its own inviting café – complete with freshly baked cakes – plus a luxurious cinema room, bar and a hair and beauty salon. There's something to do whatever the weather.
Residents are supported to do as much or as little as they wish: they can lead an activity, help around the home or simply relax in the comfort of their bedroom.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Mobile Phone Network Coverage (mobile “signal”) Yes, our care home has mobile phone signal in all our resident’s rooms. Telephone for external calling Yes, our care home provides a telephone in all our resident’s rooms. |
Social media provides an up to date window on the activities within a provider's setting.
With the restrictions on visiting during the pandemic, social media platforms such as these offer real insight when you are choosing a provider.

Our very own Windmill café is a great place to catch up with friends over a hot drink and a tasty cake. Hair and pamper sessions are always popular in the salon too, and our regular film afternoons are well attended in the cinema room. Our stringent cleaning protocols ensure high traffic areas in the home are disinfected on a regular basis, and there are hand sanitising stations located throughout the home. |
