Meet The Manager

Teresa Lawrence is Home Manager at Moor House Residential Care Home.

At Moor House, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment that feels just like home for our residents.

Our goal is to support their independence while making sure they feel comfortable, valued and respected. We listen to their views, address their concerns and cater to their needs with the highest standards of care. Every member of our team understands our motto: "We are visitors in the residents’ homes, working together to support their needs." This perspective shapes everything we do.

I deeply believe in the importance of family, and I bring that belief to Moor House every day. It’s crucial to me that both residents and staff feel empowered to live and work in a caring, safe environment. With 12 years of experience in the care sector, I’ve gained the knowledge, qualifications, and tools needed to ensure our residents thrive in their later years. At Moor House, friends and family are always welcome, and we aim to make everyone feel part of our community.

Teresa Lawrence

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

The safety and well-being of our residents and staff is always our highest priority at Moor House. We have taken every measure possible to prevent infections from entering our home. Being a smaller purpose-built home, we have taken great care on who enters the home. All staff are equipped with personal protective equipment and the majority of our staff travel in their own vehicle to work. Our activities coordinator continues to plan daily activities for our residents and the residents can benefit from our lovely garden. All of our residents and staff have been tested and we are pleased to report we have no cases.

Our Building and Facilities

Moor House is surrounded by green space and our landscaped garden is ideal for residents who enjoy the outdoors. We have a courtyard and sheltered seating area providing a relaxing space for our residents to sit and read or talk to friends and family.

We have a fully equipped hairdressing salon and nail bar at Moor House. We arrange for local services to come to the home for our residents should they request a treatment. Whether our residents are after a new style, a quick refresh and tidy, or a wash and blow dry in advance of an outing or social event, we can make it happen at the hair salon.

We can also support residents in arranging GP visits and other medical appointments. If residents value privacy, or wish to spend time with friends and family, we have relaxing spaces for residents to enjoy. Families and friends are always welcome to visit. They can drop in at any time, join residents for a meal, take part in one of our many activities or just spend time sitting with residents in our garden or one of our many indoor areas.
