Meet The Manager

Zoe Postgate is General Manager at Chater Lodge.

"Hello. My name is Zoe, and I am the General Manager at Chater Lodge Care Home.

I have worked in care settings since leaving school and have worked my way up from apprentice to my current management position. I joined Chater House in 2012 and was soon promoted to Deputy Manager and then again to General Manager in 2017. I have nearly completed an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I take pride in ensuring the whole team provides high-quality care to all our residents, and I enjoy making people laugh and feel loved.

I like taking on new challenges and learning through new experiences and training. Outside work, I like to keep fit, walk my dogs, sit in front of a fire, and read about my favourite subject: Greek myths."

Zoe Postgate

Chater Lodge care home is set in the picturesque village of Ketton and is at the heart of its community life. It provides high-quality residential care and support for people living with dementia. The home also offers respite services to relieve carers or give them a break from day-to-day life.

Our team of highly qualified and dedicated staff at this homely care facility prides itself on its ability to focus on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person.

Part of the highly thought-of Barchester Healthcare Group, Chater Lodge is just a short drive from the beautiful and historic market town of Stamford. Both Ketton and Stamford are easily accessible from the A1 and A43 for friends and family looking to visit the home.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

We offer numerous types of care here at Chater Lodge, and our team of professionals is always on hand to offer advice or answer questions about them.

Our purpose-built care home has beautifully landscaped gardens for residents and families to enjoy and several lounges to relax in.

Our bedrooms have en-suite toilets, an electric profiling bed, and a nurse call system. We encourage new residents to personalise their rooms as much as possible. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of bespoke care every day to those we support, and our services and facilities—along with our staff—make this goal a reality.

Please see below for a list of care types, facilities, and services we provide.

We use handheld digital technology called 'Enable' internally to develop, update and manage our care and life enrichment documentation for residents. We work with one of the UK’s major digital care home documentation providers and have a bespoke platform to manage documentation digitally. This aligns with our wish to deliver quality individual care and life enrichment.

If you visit Chater Lodge, you will see our team members using hand-held devices as the care plans and life enrichment preferences will be accessed via the device in an app. This will mean that it may look like our teams are using their mobile telephones. Rest assured, this is not the case, and all technology used in the home is there to support our residents and relatives. There are many benefits to using digital technology to care for our residents, including improving communication and collaboration between teams, increasing the accuracy of care intervention recording and becoming more environmentally friendly.

Activities Are So Important

At Chater Lodge, we understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring everyone we support can do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and the idea that residents can try new and exciting things.

Perhaps the best way to experience daily life at this popular Ketton care home is to see it for yourself. Use this simple online form to arrange a visit today.
