Our staff are trained to a high standard and are supported to help each resident get the best out of every day. Alongside external trainers, our nurse trainer supports staff and delivers certified training on an ongoing basis. This ensures that our standards of care and support are maintained.

Chelston Park is a picturesque, period property modernised for the purpose of care. An extensive accessible garden gives way to beautiful views of the Blackdown Hills and the Wellington Monument.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe
  • Enhanced infection control
  • Full pay for staff to encourage isolation
  • Thrice-weekly testing for staff (LTF and PCR)
  • Regular testing for residents
  • Isolated wards in the event of an outbreak
  • Full take up of vaccine for those eligible
  • High take up of the booster among the staff and resident groups
  • Essential care giver joins our testing programme
HEPA air filters in public visiting areas
  • Strong WiFi signal throughout the building to make communication with other healthcare professionals as easy as possible
  • Nurses do temperature checks and measure oxygen sats twice daily
  • Increased cleaning, administration and activities hours
Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Air Filtration & Purification We are using air filtration and/or air purification devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Infection Screening We are using technology to screen for infections & monitor symptoms.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Safe Visiting Space
safe-tick We have a safe visiting space

We allow visits to resident's bedrooms where it is safe to do so. Residents can have an essential caregiver who may visit during outbreaks. We have put aside visiting rooms with perspex screens for safe visiting. Although we hope we do not have to limit visiting in this way again, we have kept those screens up in the designated safe visiting area just in case.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
