Activities Are So Important |
---|
Every day brings a wealth of opportunities to enjoy life at The Chocolate Works Care Village. For us, it is a priority to provide an array of activities to guarantee that there is something for everyone to enjoy; from crafts, pub quizzes, fitness and music sessions, discussion groups, visits from Knavesmire primary school and trips with York Bike Belles. Our dedicated wellbeing & activities team work around the clock to ensure that there is always something to keep our residents active and engaged. We offer a wealth of opportunities for our residents and to guarantee and encourage meaningful engagement, the team consider all aspects of an individual resident; nationality, religion or culture are likely to have a major influence on preferences for music, food, clothes and everyday routines to name a few things. We call this person-centred care .. it’s all about the individual. Start the day with a toasted teacake and a cup of tea with a neighbour at Albert’s Café in the atrium, enjoy an art activity, a game of chess or do some gardening on our beautiful rooftop terrace before meeting a friend or relative for lunch at our very own pub, The Duke of York. Watch a movie in the afternoon in our art deco styled cinema and share an evening meal with fellow residents. We aim to provide a wide range of activities and therapies with something to suit everyone, not forgetting our on-site gym and hairdresser. Whatever you enjoy doing in your free time, our dedicated staff are on hand to make sure that you live life as independently as possible at The Chocolate Works and with dignity and grace. |
