Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Description |

We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled. We have a mix of single and double rooms, including some with a full-en-suite wet room and others with an en-suite toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views, and there’s WiFi throughout the home. We have a call system that can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times. |

Activities Are So Important |
---|
We have a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. There’s a knit and natter club, armchair exercises, gardening, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, quizzes, bible studies and church services. We also have a dedicated chaplain and offer music therapy for our residents living with dementia. We have our own minibus for trips to the canal, the farm, the garden centre, or for a drink at the local pub. Whether it’s celebrating National Cheese Day or visits from miniature ponies and owls, there’s never a dull moment at The Willows. Our approach to care is a truly holistic one, always intending to nurture your loved one’s mind, body and spirit. This comes as part of our promise to you and our residents, to help them genuinely live a better, more fulfilled life. It’s about respecting their individual needs, listening and understanding, and presenting them with opportunities and daily activities to keep their minds and bodies active. Whether they flourish in a lively group activity or prefer to re-charge in the peaceful surroundings of one of our quiet spaces, our home is brimming with inspiration and potential. Enjoying every day We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose. There’s baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, gardening, external entertainers, bingo and quizzes just to mention a few of the things we get up to. We also provide regular gentle exercise sessions and have close links with GP surgeries, district nurses and dentists. We have weekly physiotherapy sessions and our in-house hair salon keeps everyone looking their best. We’re committed to helping residents make the most of every single day. Seize The Day is our unique initiative to support residents to fulfill their ambitions and make their dreams come true. Whether it be a ride on ‘The Big One’ at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a trip in a fire engine, or a visit to the swimming pool; we will move mountains to make it happen. Seize the Day is funded by charitable donations and is available to all residents. MHA is a leading provider of music therapy in dementia care across the UK. Funded entirely by charitable donations, these award-winning weekly sessions are led by our highly-trained therapists and can have an incredibly powerful and positive impact on a person’s well-being. At The Willows, our music therapists interact with residents through singalongs, playing simple percussion instruments and responding to musical cues in either a one-to-one or group setting. These sessions often prove to be truly life-enhancing, helping people to unlock special memories and express their feelings and emotions. |
