Kim Dean is General Manager at Fountains Care Home.
"Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.
I joined the home in July 2023. I started my career in care almost 30 years ago and began as a care assistant and progressed to my current position of a Registered Manager. I have worked in and managed Residential and Nursing homes and also worked as a Turnaround Manager to help make improvements in care homes.
My passion is providing excellent care and supporting our elder generation to enable them to live their best possible life and most importantly enjoying life and having the opportunity to achieve their goals and ambitions."
Fountains, our stunning new care home in Solihull has been specifically designed with residents in mind, and provide high-quality residential care, and care for individuals living with dementia in a dedicated environment.
The home is situated on the site that was known for 30 years as 'Shirley Aquatics' and is within walking distance of Nottcuts, Shirley Golf Centre, The Plough (Beefeater) and The Harvester, as well as Tesco, and it also runs along the X20 bus route.
Fountains is a home from home experience, where residents' needs are met with love, respect and consideration, with the focus being on what our residents 'can do' and empowering people to retain their independence. What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe | ||
---|---|---|
We are delighted that the majority of our residents, patients and staff have now been vaccinated. And we'll do everything we can to ensure that all new residents, patients and staff are vaccinated, where medically able to to, or are willing o be vaccinated before moving in or working in our homes and hospitals. We also ensure that any new residents and patients coming into our homes and hospitals , whether from the local hospital or the community have been tested in advance and are negative for COVID-19. We continue to have a robust supply chain of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in place, and our staff are using this in accordance with the Government guidance. All of our staff, irrespective of their role will be wearing protective face masks at all times to ensure the safety of our residents and team. We continue to implement our advanced cleaning practices, and have clear standards in the case of managing any confirmed or suspected cases. All staff practise good hand and respiratory hygiene to prevent the spread of germs, and surfaces that are often touched are cleaned and disinfected frequently. We're proud to be the only care provider to win the RoSPA Health and Safety Award in both 2019 and 2020. |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators here at Fountains Care Home are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things. |
