Our Building and Facilities

Sensory Garden provides residents with peaceful outdoor stimulus. There is nothing quite like an English country garden and Downs View’s Sensory Garden has been especially designed to help people with dementia enjoy the nation’s great pastime. This stimulating outdoor space with shaded areas and non-slip soft flooring gives residents the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and smells of colourful flowers, scented plants, aromatic herbs, water features and wind chimes. It has even got its own Pets Corner and aviary.

The design and décor, both internal and external, reflected evidenced-based best practice standards for creating an environment that supported people living with dementia and memory impairments.
