Caroline Ray is General Manager at Belong Chester.
Caroline has led the team at Belong Chester since 2024, having proven her credentials in the registered manager role at Belong Crewe and Belong Macclesfield.
She is a dedicated and passionate care professional qualified as a nurse and holds extensive social care and training qualifications, as well as the NVQ level 5 in Management. Her experience spans working as a staff nurse in the health authority and then moving to social services, where she managed staff in supported tenancies to enable people to live in their own homes. This service provided support to people with varying levels of need, including people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, dementia, mental health issues and those needing end-of-life care.
Belong Chester is our first intergenerational care village, offering a wide range of services and facilities, with the added opportunity to continue enjoying multi-generational experiences as part of daily life.
The village offers 24-hour support across six extended family-sized households and 23 independent living apartments, the latter of which are available to purchase or rent.
It also features a 25-place intergenerational nursery with a secure sensory nature and play garden. This nursery provides a high-quality care and learning environment for children from birth to five years and is designed to offer shared learning experiences and opportunities for children, families, and older people.

With the worst of the pandemic behind us, we are delighted to be open to the public once more and to see our villages gradually returning to the vibrant community hubs we have always known. Nonetheless, we remain mindful of the risks that Covid-19 continues to present, and a number of safety measures are in place to ensure robust infection prevention and control. These are regularly reviewed by our Covid-19 steering group to ensure that our practice is up-to-date and consistent with current levels of risk. |

Activities Are So Important |

Belong Chester has worked hard to embed the arts in everything we do, helped in part by a four-year partnership with Liverpool’s Centre for Contemporary Arts, The Bluecoat. The Chester village is fortunate to have the Creative Studio as a dedicated space for artistic endeavour! This bright and welcoming facility has provided the setting for various magical creative experiences, from pottery to plaque making and painting to storytelling and scripting. In the fully equipped gym at Belong Chester, we use virtual reality games to offer clients targeted support for building strength, balance, cognition and movement according to their needs assessment. Games are also designed to stimulate brain function, with different patterns for people with dementia, Parkinson’s or stroke sufferers. Why not pop in for a tour of this award-winning intergenerational community? We can assure you that you'll enjoy a warm welcome. |
