Meet The Manager

Lucie Willday is Registered Manager at Bowbrook.

As manager here at Bowbrook, I have 13 years experience caring for people living with dementia and I'm also studying a level 5 in management in health and social care. I'm passionate about giving customers the best experience and a smooth transition from home into the care and support environment and using research to better understand dementia and ways we can accommodate day to day living with a positive impact for customers within the service.

I do the role as it is very rewarding, I've always aspired to make a difference in people's lives and build a strong person-centred community.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We've taken the appropriate steps to ensure the safety of residents.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Our Building and Facilities

Using our experience and working with academics and specialist interior designers, we have taken everything into consideration. From colour themes and open plan layouts, to window space and memory boxes with small reminders to help residents find their way, we’ve carefully considered how every part of Bowbrook can help people live well with dementia.

Each household has a communal kitchen diner, cinema room, lounge and access to outdoor space – including a rooftop terrace. There is also a snug and smaller dining space for residents who prefer a quieter setting. Residents also have their own spacious en-suite bedrooms to enjoy their privacy when needed. All areas of the home are fitted with an alarm system ensuring 24 hour access to staff should individuals require assistance.

As you would expect, our exceptionally high standards also continue when residents step out of the home into any of our outdoor spaces such as our courtyards, gardens and rooftop terrace.

Activities Are So Important

Not only will we help our residents get the most out of the things they already love, but we will also help them discover all kinds of new activities and pastimes. Our on-site Activities Coordinator works with residents and loved ones to help build a social activity calendar that entertains every individual.

Whether group activities, or smaller one to one sessions for more niche interests, residents are able to get what they want from life and our on-site team are at hand to help them live it.

We actively engage in intergenerational working, whether this be providing a play area for our residents’ family members, or working with local colleges and schools to undertake community projects.

We encourage our residents to help us make decisions about the homes they live in. We have been known to introduce pet rabbits and other scheme pets should residents agree this would benefit them.
