Nicola Brown is Care Home Manager at Campsie View.
“The best part of my job is that I can make a difference to people’s lives”
Working at Campsie View is amazing. We’re like an extended family here, working in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The residents and the team are so great. Before working for Four Seasons, I worked for the NHS as a Registered Nurse. After 15 years, I decided to have a career change and look into caring for the elderly; that’s when I started working at Campsie View. When I’m not at work, I enjoy long walks to clear my mind. I also love reading books and watching documentaries to help me wind down after a long day. The highlight of my career has been my progression and development since joining Four Seasons 5 years ago. I joined as a staff nurse and I have progressed my way up to Home Manager. This is a massive achievement and I would encourage everyone to follow their dreams because it pays off.
Campsie View Care Home is only a short drive from Glasgow city centre, which makes for great days out for visitors. We are also a short walk away from the local park – a lovely day out for residents and their loved ones. The area around our homes has been named the ‘Best place to live in Scotland’ in a recent survey. The drive up to the home may not be very inspiring – we are liaising with the landlord of the closed home at the top of our road to make this more appealing. However the warmth of our welcome and quality of our care and service more than makes up for this. We hope you agree when you come to visit.
We have a vibrant Magic Moments programme based on our current resident interests and likes. Here’s just a taster of what’s on offer:
Wednesday Afternoon Cinema Club
Weekly Quiz
Gardening Club starts in March each year
Walking group – we walk around the local area including the canals
Trips on the canal with The Seagull Trust
Trips out to the Kelvin Grove art gallery and The People’s Palace
Trips to Ayr, Largs and Blair Drummond Safari
We also have connections with local Churches that offer pastoral care visits and support residents to attend special services in the Church.

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
Another way we can help our residents to feel at home is for them to do familiar things. So our dedicated Activities Leaders gently encourage residents to carry on doing things they enjoy. If someone had a hobby or pastime they did before they arrived, we’ll encourage them to continue it with us. Or perhaps they may like to learn something new. The important thing is that we treat every resident as an individual. If they enjoy sharing time with others, either in our home or on an organised trip out, they’re most welcome. Or, if they prefer quiet time alone, we’ll respect that too. |
