Meet The Manager

Ken Dawes is Manager at Clevedon Court Nursing Home.

Ken started in the industry in 2010 working for a company that helped individuals and businesses to recover from adverse financial positions. His interaction with staff and residents in a nursing home in Plymouth attracted him to the care sector and he felt it was a worthwhile and rewarding place to work.

He has a lot of experience working with homes that need improvement or are in challenging positions and understands how to get the best from and for staff - having a 'level 7' in Leadership and Management. Ken is passionate about making sure that residents have choices and are fully supported throughout life in the nursing home environment whilst promoting independence, where possible. His last role was as a Care Consultant supporting a group of homes that were in administration. This meant that he worked with incumbent managers who needed guidance, stability and mentoring through a difficult period.
