Meet The Manager

Amy Morgan is Manager at Elliscombe House.

Amy relocated from London 3 years ago and says that she is never going back! She is a registered adult nurse and spent 11 years in the NHS in both clinical and service improvement roles. These included setting up an Integrated NHS service, which she then worked in and which is still in operation.

Amy is passionate about end of life care, and has worked as an end of life educator in Somerset.

Situated in the South East of Somerset, almost on the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire, Elliscombe House is central to Wincanton, Bruton and Castle Cary. Built in 1901, this elegant Edwardian house has been lovingly restored to offer an uplifting, safe place to enjoy life.

Elliscombe House provides person-centred residential, nursing and respite care for up to 35 elderly individuals. We have all the comforts of home combined with the luxuries of a hotel, with qualified staff available at all times to respond to individual needs.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

We recognise that activities positively impact physical and mental health, and that keeping busy is vital for physical and emotional well-being. In addition to our in-house activities plan and numerous days out, our residents enjoy socialising with and supporting the local community through a range of events held at Elliscombe House throughout the year.

Our extensive landscaped grounds and numerous reception rooms offer the perfect setting for an event, and we are always delighted to welcome people into our home.

Our exclusive restaurant evenings form part of Elliscombe House’s social calendar and are always popular with residents who enjoy the atmosphere and experience of silver service. Our restaurant evenings offer the opportunity for residents to spend time and socialise with friends and family. Our restaurant menus have included everything from smoked salmon to medallions of beef fillet with blue cheese and smoked oyster sauce.

From hog roasts in the summer to carol singing with warm home-made mince pies and clotted cream in winter, there is always a reason to socialise at Elliscombe House.
