Meet The Manager

Lucy Gradwell is General Manager at Fairfax Manor Care Home.

I am Harrogate born and bred. I was pretty much brought up in a nursing home as my mother is a retired nursing home manager. I started as a carer in 1997 and have worked every role within care homes, working my way up to manager. Despite going to drama school and working as a professional actress for nearly 10 years, I took on registered manager of my first home in 2010 and since then have worked either as a registered manager or as a quality support manager ever since. I have my NVQ5 in management. I enjoy horse riding and amateur dramatics and may even break into a song or dance at times for the residents!
