am delighted to be appointed as the new Care Home Manager at Foxhunters, Abergavenny.
I started my career as a care assistant in 2005 working my way up to home manager. I eventually moved in to a regional role supporting homes all over the UK.
I am extremely excited to be able to support the wonderful team here at Foxhunters as well as ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional care to the ladies and gentlemen who live here.
With fabulous views over The Blorenge, this beautiful purpose built care home offers everything you could wish for and is close to pretty market towns surrounded by mountains and hills. A place anyone would be proud to call home!

Every inch of the Foxhunters care home has been interior designed with special touches to create a luxury yet homely feel. In the home, we have a range of outstanding facilities including a coffee lounge, bar, cinema, gym, beauty salon and beautifully designed lounges and dining rooms. All signage is in Welsh and English and is dementia friendly throughout to support those who live with us. We also have special activity corners for residents to enjoy with puzzles, games, musical instruments and easels overlooking the beautiful Welsh mountains. |

We have 70 fully furnished ensuite bedrooms at Foxhunters. Each room has an ensuite bathroom and the option for a TV, phone and internet which our maintenance manager will happily set up. Many of our downstairs rooms have patio doors which lead directly out onto the beautiful landscaped gardens. Our home offers four luxurious companion suites for couples to continue living together without significantly altering their lifestyle. The suite includes a sitting room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom - the perfect place for couples to stay together. You are welcome to bring your own personal belongings from home to furnish your room with. Each room has a photo box for you to add photos to and create a collage of memories to share with staff, visitors and residents. A state-of-the-art nurse call system is in place in every room, with a revolutionary falls monitoring system from Eclipse Nurse Call. It provides added security for those at risk of falling, allowing people to have a good nights’ sleep without being unnecessarily disturbed. |

Keeping active and busy can be a fundamental part in enhancing the lives of our residents! Our home will offer a fun and varied program 7 days a week. A chance for fun and laughter, our range of activities really will help each resident live their life to the full. We also work closely with the local community so they play an active part in our home. From local schools to the Womans Institute (WI) our doors are open. We really are one big family. We are lucky to be situated where we are. With our wheelchair accessible transport, we will be offering weekly trips out to enjoy what Wales has to offer. |
