One of our two nursing homes in Ayrshire, Glenfairn House is a magnificent Edwardian care home, surrounded by stunning gardens. In a picturesque location by Ayr Beach, many rooms boast sea views across to the Isle of Arran.

But it’s not only the beauty of the care home that makes it special, it’s also our devoted team, who provide residential, dementia, nursing, mental health care, palliative care and respite breaks. These are perfect for caregivers who support elderly relatives and need a break themselves, with the peace of mind that their loved one is in safe hands.

Our Building and Facilities

Inside the care home there are period features, including high ceilings, ornate cornicing, bay windows and original stained-glass windows. The modern part of the nursing home has views over the glorious gardens.

There is a large mature garden at the front and a vast landscaped garden at the rear. Some of the bedrooms, many of which have walk-in showers, have patio doors leading to smaller, wheelchair-accessible courtyard areas, which are lovely spaces for when family and friends visit.

Activities Are So Important

Our team are devoted to enriching the lives of our residents, supporting them to enjoy doing things they love to do.

Our gardens are the perfect spot for summer activities, from bowls and lawn games, to barbecues and afternoon tea with family and friends in the summer house.  

Other popular activities are the care home’s poetry group and animal visits, which are especially therapeutic for our residents living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia, as well as people with sensory impairments.
