Jill Pollard is Home Manager at Harcourt Gardens Care Home.
"As home manager, the most important part of my role is to make sure residents are well and feel safe. It is a role that takes a lot of strength and a level head. It also needs you to be fair and impartial.
Being able to spend time with residents and their friends and relatives is one of my favourite parts of the day. It is wonderful to see residents smile. It also fills me with pride to know that families trust us to care for their loved ones.
I have a level five qualification in management and leadership, but I’ve also worked in care for 25 years. During that time, I was nominated by Plymouth City Council as a leader in care, which was a career highlight. I chose to join Care UK because it feels like an innovative organisation.
Outside of work, I really value my family time, it really is the best thing ever."
Everything about Harcourt Gardens Care Home is extraordinary and the care we provide is no exception. We work hard to deliver care that’s not only of the highest quality but that’s friendly, too. After all, we want our residents to live their very best life.
