Elsbeth Russell is General Manager at Highview Care Home.
I qualified as a nurse in 1993 and have always worked within the private sector, living and working in Newcastle upon Tyne. I worked for a local, family run nursing care company before Barchester, making my way through their career ladder during my time there.
In 2013 my family and I made a quality of life decision to move away from life in the city to Inverness, where I have worked within the locality as a care home manager ever since.
My greatest achievement to date has to be being nationally acknowledged as the 'Nurse of the Year' in 2015 for the excellent environment and care given to people living with dementia in my care home. I still find it very difficult to believe that a care home manager from Inverness was recognised for just doing her job.
Highview House is situated on the outskirts of the city of Inverness, with panoramic views overlooking the Moray Firth, and beautiful award-winning gardens. All our rooms have en-suite facilities and we encourage residents to personalise them with their treasured possessions.
The home cares for people who need 24-hour nursing care and people living with dementia, who are supported in our dedicated Memory Lane Community. We have a skilled and compassionate group of care staff lead by registered nurses, who are offered specific training programmes to meet your needs. if you were to join us you would have a named nurse and keyworker allocated to support you on a personal and social basis.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications |

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant. Activities Are So Important |
---|
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things. |
