What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

Our Care home conducts thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks. These assessments cover various aspects, including:
Ensuring beds and other equipment are safe for use.
Addressing fall risks throughout the home.
Safely handling medication and other dangerous substances.
Preventing burns or scalds.
Minimizing the spread of infections and diseases.
Managing situations where residents may exhibit behaviour that is challenging.
We never use a risk assessment to be a reason to restrict residents’ independence unless the risk is deemed unacceptably great.
As a care provider we follow the Care Act 2014, which defines a framework for safeguarding adults.
Policies and procedures reflect the statutory guidance and local multi-agency procedures.
The Making Safeguarding Personal initiative focuses on outcomes and balancing choice, control, and safety for individuals.
Our Staff engage with residents to understand their desired outcomes and work collaboratively.
Our care home has a speak up policy to guide staff in raising concerns.
Staff can report concerns internally or externally if they feel it is unsafe or if a concern has been ignored.
Residents’ personal data is shared with partner organisations with consent from relevant parties.
We practice confidentiality and compliance with data protection principles.
Our Staff take steps to maintain safe; including
reporting concerns promptly, removing obstacles that pose risks and checking water temperatures before use.
We practicing good hygiene.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Independent Assessments We have been independently assessed in our approach to infection control.
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.

Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.
