Meet The Manager

Fiona Honeyman is Manager at Lovat House Residential Care.

Lovat House is a lovely, small, family-run residential care home that has held an excellent local reputation for many years. It is situated just a 5-minute walk from Wokingham High Street in an Edwardian property. Residents’ families and visitors alike remark on the warm, friendly, caring, and homely atmosphere that makes Lovat House so special.

We offer both long-term residential care and respite/recuperative Care. Lovat House has 23 individual bedrooms, 20 of which have en-suite bathrooms, comfortable living accommodation, and is set in a beautiful, sensory, wheelchair-friendly garden with quiet areas to sit in the sun or shade. Several rooms have doors leading directly onto the garden. We aim to make our residents feel that it’s home from home.

As a smaller, family-run home, our dedicated staff can deliver a consistent and personalised care program tailored to enhance our residents' well-being. We ensure that independence, personal choice, and dignity are at the forefront of our approach. For us, this is imperative for all residents, irrespective of the level of day-to-day support required.

We have relevant policies and procedures in place. Staff are required to complete mandatory training so our staff are up to date with health and safety regulations. We implementing a person centered approach to our residents care plans and risk assessments. Therefore creating care plans that reflect individual needs of our residents. We are regularly updating the care plans with an emphases on holistic approach to our residents needs.

The communal areas of the home comprise of the hall, lounges, dining room and hairdressing room

The lounge is used throughout the day, at the residents own leisure. A large screen television is provided for the residents to use. Many group activities take place in the lounge.

The dining room is where the residents have the option to take their meals. It includes a service hatch, for food to be served directly from the kitchen.

The Garden is treated as the residents own. They can tend to it or pursue other gardening hobbies they may have as long as they get permission from the Care Manager first.

The garden is also used during the summer, morning tea and coffee can be taken outside and activities are often held outside during the summer, weather permitting.

Description

The residents' private rooms at Lovat House are fully carpeted, attractively furnished, and well-appointed to a high standard of comfort and convenience.

Every room has an emergency nurse call system to alert the staff on duty during the day or night. There are 18 single rooms and 2 double rooms with en-suite facilities, and three other bedrooms have their own washing facilities.


Residents are most welcome to have their own television or radio, special keepsakes and personal items in their room.
