Meet The Manager

Alison Peppard is Registered Manager at Manor Lodge Care Home.

A dedicated manager with over 15 years of experience in mental health, social services, and criminal justice. My expertise includes working with individuals with learning difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorders in both residential and community settings.

Highly trained in diagnosing and treating mental illness and am a compassionate, solutions-oriented leader committed to developing exceptional support plans for those facing substance abuse and mental health challenges. I excel at building and motivating dynamic teams, fostering a culture where staff feel empowered to share ideas and voice concerns.

My background encompasses operations, project and risk management, as well as health and safety protocols. As an enthusiastic team player, I prioritise process improvements and staff development. My strong interpersonal skills have facilitated successful business partnerships, creating a positive work environment that drives growth.

Manor Lodge is set in the Avenues area of Exmouth close to the town and seafront. Winners of the ‘Health Provider of the Year’ at the Exmouth Business Awards in 2013, 2015 and 2023, the home is proud to offer high quality care and support to their residents and the local community.

Manor Lodge has seen significant growth over the years, originally offering residence for 16, the team are now able to care for up to 38 male and female clients over the age of 50. Residents benefit from cosy but modern bedrooms as well as spacious communal areas where they can relax and enjoy socialising. Boasting half an acre of landscaped gardens, residents can also enjoy their time outside, the home has even won ‘Exmouth in Bloom’ for two years running for their fantastic gardens.

The team work hard to ensure residents feel happy in their new home, with superb facilities as well as high quality care, residents are encouraged to live an independent and comfortable lifestyle in a place where they feel safe and secure.

Your room is your own private space and we’d love you to make it as homely and comfortable as possible. So, why not bring your treasured personal mementos and furniture with you to give it that familiar feeling?


Whatever your preference you’ll find all the rooms to your satisfaction and some come with private ensuite facilities to ensure your complete privacy.


If you like keeping up with the latest news, we will be happy to purchase your choice of daily newspaper on your behalf, and you can of course have your own TV to watch in your room whenever you want. Keeping in contact with friends and relatives from the comfort of your room couldn’t be easier too, as we will happily install your own private phone line, if required (chargeable at standard BT rates).

Activities Are So Important

At Manor lodge care home we offer a wide range of activities designed to encourage residents to keep mobile and most importantly an interest in life. Activities are organised by staff for e.g. draughts, bingo, cards, quizzes, exercise activities, coffee morning in town.

We also have musicians that often visit the home.

At the rear of building there is a courtyard with a central pond feature, chicken coop, flower beds and a herb garden which are maintained by residents and staff. We also have a Christmas party, summer barbeque and other events.

Manor Lodge care home makes every effort to enable service users to attend religious services. A regular multi-denomination service is held at the home and offers holy communion if required. Service users can attend any service of their choice outside the home and transport can often be arranged for this.

Arrangements can also be made for all faiths to have pastoral visits within the home or to attend services outside.
