What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are pleased to announce that following the Covid-19 Winter Testing Update, the National Testing Programme has started to roll-out visitor testing in care homes. This will enable care homes to offer regular testing of visitors, and when combined with other infection prevention and control measures (such as PPE), can support more meaningful visits with loved ones.

Infection Control Initiatives in place

safe-tick Sterilisation & Disinfection Devices We are using sterilisation and/or disinfection devices within our care setting.

Our Building and Facilities

Our extension rooms are modern some of which have patio doors to our secure garden area. We also have a quieter wing to our home which has its own bedrooms and dining/lounge facilities. This area can be secured when required and is perfect for those who need a safer, smaller environment to meet increased needs.

Our home has two main lounges and two dining rooms along with a conservatory and access to our secure garden and patio area. Maximising on space we have created seating in small areas around the home for resting or quiet time. Books and objects of interest are on these internal routes to encourage meaningful browsing.

We have a small kitchen that is used for relatives if they wish to make their loved one a drink or snack. Residents also use this area to maintain daily living skills.

Activities Are So Important

We know it isn’t unusual for people with dementia to present with high reels of anxiety and complexities. We work as a team with families and outside agencies to understand, and develop a range of ideas which may include simple distractions such as watching birds in the garden, playing with a balloon or listening and singing to music.

At the forefront of the work we do is helping people to enjoy the day, the moment, there life.

As a part of your care arrangement, you will be supported with basic and physical activities of daily living to live as ordinary life as possible, suited to your abilities.

It’s important to us to be making new friends, new memories, and experiencing good, heart-warming relationships.
