Charlene Porter is The Home Manager at Pear Tree House.
Charlene began working in care at 16; over the years, she has worked in several settings, including nursing, dementia, residential, and mental health, at various levels.
Charlene has undertaken several training courses to help strengthen her knowledge, skills, and understanding and enable her to provide the best possible quality care. Charlene is passionate about ensuring those in her care can live a full, active, and meaningful life, embracing their identity, enabling them to make their own choices and decisions, and remaining independent by incorporating their life history, hobbies, and interests through detailed person-centred care planning.
She is compassionate, straightforward, open, honest, and leads from the front. She enjoys encouraging and embracing the team to strive for the best and learn and develop their own skills and knowledge, which supports a positive and open culture within her home.
