Activities Are So Important

At Sanctuary Care, keeping our residents as active as their health permits promotes their well-being and stimulates their minds.

No matter what their role, all our staff are directly involved in supporting person-centred activities. They spend time finding out what makes our residents happy, so they can plan activities that are personal to them.

Our residents are really excited about our new vegetable patch, and have been growing green beans, cauliflower and carrots. When grown, these will be harvested by our residents and given to our chefs to use in their daily nutritious meals.

Our garden recently underwent a full makeover in 2022. Our residents take pride in taking care of the raised beds as part of our gardening club. Something our permanent and respite care residents love getting involved with.

Taking the lead, our residents have their own book club and meet each week to discuss all things literature! Something we are hoping to open up to our wider community in the near future.

We hold a range of regular religious ceremonies at Prince Alfred care home to support our residents with their spiritual needs. We also welcome a number of furry friends into our home, who our residents simply adore – including Holly, Regional Manager Sue’s lovely pup!
