Mathew Gilbert is General Manager at Rhiwlas Care Home.
I am very proud to have worked in a care setting for over 9 years. I knew immediately I wanted to build a career in the care industry and from then I progressed to a Team Leader, Assistant Manager and started my role as a General Manager 2 years ago, I always strive to deliver the very best person-centred care. I was attracted to Lovett Care as I liked their ethos, vision, and values. I Joined Lovett Care in August 2023 as the General Manager of Rhiwlas Care Homes I feel privileged to be part of such a hardworking team that provide very high standards of care whist maintaining residents' dignity and independence. In my own time I like paddle boarding and hiking.
Rhiwlas Care Home in Flint is a purpose-built home that provides high quality residential and 24-hour nursing care in a warm and welcoming environment. Alongside this, we offer respite care and short breaks, which can now be booked up to a year in advance. Our loyal and dedicated team take pride in delivering the highest standard of care and support to each resident.
The high standards of care we offer are reflected throughout the home. For example, our Head Chef creates wonderful menus for residents to enjoy each day, and our team of activities coordinators organise a lively programme of events that promote health and well-being.
We are always happy to offer guidance and answer any questions you may have about our care facilities, so please feel free to call up or, better still, pop in and experience what our beautiful care home has to offer.

Activities Are So Important |
---|
Our Activities Coordinators are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of those we support, and are instrumental in ensuring that Rhiwlas receives good press coverage, mostly due to our involvement with local schools and churches. We often arrange parties, social group activities and networking within the community in order to enhance the social lives of residents. Needs are met by residents participating in activities of their choice, including pet therapy, arts and crafts, sensory and music therapy, live entertainment, trips out to theatres, shopping, lunches, football matches and visits to garden centres. We also have a monthly quiz that is run and organised by a resident, and we often have a competition between staff, relatives and residents. We aim to encourage family and friend participation and support for those who live here on special occasions, such as Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, anniversaries, birthdays and Valentine’s Day. |
