Meet The Manager

Cassie Munnoch is General Manager at Shawford Springs Care Home.

I have worked in care for many years in various roles but by far my favourite role is here, as General Manager at Shawford Springs. I enjoy working with a team who are passionate about what they do and ensure that everyday is the best possible, for all of our residents.

Life here at Shawford Springs is like no other. We have a fabulous environment which I pride myself on keeping immaculate and the care we deliver is bespoke and individual for each resident

Our residents' days are filled with fun and laughter and of course - learning!  Here at Shawford Springs we believe that residents should lead an even more fulfilled life than they have led at home.

Shawford Springs Care Home in Winchester is now open and offers a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of support, including high quality residential care, respite care and dementia care.

The home has a dedicated area called Memory Lane, which provides high-quality care for people with dementia. Within the community, memory boxes with small reminders and items such as photographs are used to help each person reminisce. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens will also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks.

The community is broken up into small units with a family feel, helping people feel safe and comfortable. Services are based on independence, dignity and choice, supported by a person-centred approach to care.

Autumna has invited care providers to evidence the infection control measures they are carrying out, above and beyond those laid out by the government, in order to keep residents, staff and visitors safe.

What we're doing to keep residents & visitors safe

We are working within the government guidelines to help protect our staff and clients.

Infection Control Initiatives in place
safe-tick Infection Control Training Our staff are trained to use measures which prevent and control infections.
safe-tick Virus Testing We are testing for viral infection when symptoms present within our care setting.
Connectivity for resident testing, monitoring & communications

Infection control and the safety of both residents and staff often requires quarantine measures and the isolation of care home residents. To test, monitor and allow residents to communicate with relatives, the prevalence of room-level connectivity within the home is becoming increasingly relevant.

Activities Are So Important

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
