Kay Mitchell is Registered Manager at Templeton Place.
Despite her original career path being in accountancy, Kay has never looked back since finding the care sector 20 years ago. From the first day she became a Health Care Assistant, caring for people with a diagnosis of dementia, she felt this was her calling in life. Over the years, she progressed from HCA to Senior Care, Deputy Manager, and eventually Home Manager.
While managing a home in Wales, Kay was introduced to the ‘Eden Alternative’ model of care, whose aim is to eradicate loneliness, isolation, and boredom in the care environment. In addition to being an Eden Associate, she was also known as the Welsh Eden Alternative Ambassador.
Kay has a real passion for helping those entrusted to her care to live happy and fulfilled lives with plenty of variety and spontaneity. She considers herself one of the lucky people who is happy to go to work each day and finds it a pleasure to be around people who have lived such interesting lives.
