Clare Hatcher is Registered Manager at The Lodge.

Clare has over 28 years experience in the care industry and has worked her way through each role giving her the best understanding of running a home. Clare has a vast training portfolio along with her Level 5 in Leadership and Management.

The Lodge is set in a semi-rural area in walking distance to the town centre of Maldon. It is a grade II listed building which has retained some of its original features. The home is approached by a private road which is set in a conservation area and enjoys delightful views. It is surrounding by parkland and has its own secluded gardens.

We love maintaining a cosy atmosphere, resembling a traditional home rather than an institution. The staff members cultivate personal connections, treating residents like family and provide individual care.


The majority of the rooms are single with en-suite facilities, and there are shared rooms are available for married couples / friends. There are three lounge areas/dining areas. All residents are welcome to bring with them personal items of furniture for their personal rooms.


In order to meet the needs of the residents the home provides specially adapted bathing facilities and moving and handling equipment for those less able.
