Hi, my name is Rebecca. I am the Home Manager at Ty Gwynno.
I was born in Pontypridd and here I have remained and settled. I am a proud Welsh lady and am fluent in the Welsh language.
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2000 I have worked my way up through the following roles of General Registered Nurse to Unit Lead, Clinical Lead , Deputy Manager, to my most recent post as the Home Manager of Ty Gwynno.
Ty Gwynno Care Home offers residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care to up to 46 older people in Pontypridd.
The home is just outside the town centre, with a bus route into the high street where residents can enjoy shops and amenities. It is also half an hour’s drive from Cardiff. The home is in a quiet residential area with stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
Ty Gwynno Care Home is cheerfully decorated throughout its lounge and dining areas and its conservatory. Each bedroom is single and has a television point and WiFi, with a lift to bedrooms on the first floor. There is a large, landscaped garden with a seated patio area.
An activities coordinator organises a weekly timetable of activities, such as exercise classes, music and entertainment, gardening and quizzes.
Residents are involved in planning the menu, with all food being nutritionally balanced and dietary requirements accommodated.

Tŷ Gwynno Care Home is situated in Hopkinstown, a village in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is located on the eastern side of the River Taff, opposite Pontypridd. The village has a small park called Hopkinstown Park which is a great place for families to visit. |
