Gillian Douglass is Registered Manager at Visiting Angels Southwest Kent and East Sussex (Live-In Care).
Gillian was born and raised in Kent and Medway. She has worked in social care for over twenty years and has a wide range of experience with a variety of clients both in the UK and the US. Gillian has worked in all three sectors of the economy and has also held voluntary positions at the local comprehensive school in Tunbridge Wells, the Friends of Grosvenor and Hilbert Park and a political party.
Gillian was attracted to Visiting Angels because of their carer-centric philosophy which enables caregivers to care for their clients in a holistic way. “Visiting Angels provides a great framework to both enable caregivers to develop professionally and provide outstanding care for our clients,” she says.
Our standard of care is second to none. We only employ top-quality carers. We not only believe that investing in our staff is the best way to enable our carers to provide the best possible care but we have institutionalised excellent employment conditions for that. Moreover, our staff is fully trained in-house and in-person (none of those video-trainings) to be able work to the highest standards of care. Lots of extra specialised training is provided too, like fire awareness, dementia training and mental health, depending on what the carer wants to specialise in. We try to match you with the best suitable carer but ultimately our clients have the choice. You choose your carer! Needless to say that all our carers have been through a police check.
Our visits are never less than an hour so your carer is never rushed. We plan visits well so your carer has enough time to reach you on time. We are here to support you. We are more than happy to assist with daily activities such as light housework, meal preparation, pet care, and providing escort services to appointments or social activities. Additionally we do "personal care", care as defined by our Regulator, the Care & Quality Commission. We can assist with bathing, going to the loo, and/or helping doing your hair and nails At Visiting Angels, we understand the significance of providing care that is tailored precisely to your unique needs and preferences. Our commitment lies in offering consistently personalized, flexible, and adaptable care solutions. If you are insure whether we do it, just ask.
